Now I do like a good video game and I am one of those who likes the story of Kratos from The God of War series. His story is one of revenge at first and yeah you can say they have washed some of the whole raw masculinity out of the 2018 God of War and Ragnorak stories, but I do see a good story in the reboots. The Kratos who is trying to come to accept that he was a man filled with hate and vengeance and find peace in his life. That is because all men in the end want Peace. As Tripp Lanier stated Men want Peace Love Aliveness Freedom. This is evident in the Norse God Story.
Now our narrator for this video Is Master Samwise and he does a great job of walking us through the story showing us how our hero, Kratos applies what he learns, “Be Better” because at the start of the game, he is a guarded person. He still has fear and hurt in him. As you can see when he yells at Atraus while hunting. Kratos is like many other men in that they deeply love their family. This is the reason he went on a killing spree and wiped ou the pantheon of Greek Gods. He wanted to make sure everyone was ready to go on their journey to the highest point in all the realms.
You can see how both parties in this story hunger for the connection they need in their lives. Kratos just lost his second wife and he avoided his son out of a sense of love. He wanted his son to grow up being a nobler man. Yet his wife Laufey died just as the boy starts to really need his father in his life. And this is often a time in today’s world that men become absent. So you see Our Superman struggles with how he teaches his son to not be like him when he was young and dumb, but instead acts with his mind and not his heart as Kratos did.
As Kratos says “don’t be Sorry, Be Better”
