Achieving Your Childhood Dreams

I first come across Randy Pausch’s Last Lecture thanks to a PSA on a local radio station and I decided to see if there was a Youtube video of it. Since it apparently is well known enough to actually make a PSA that has kids asking WHY!

The last lecture was a Carnegie Mellon tradition of a teacher who is retiring they can give one more talk about whatever they really wanted to say. Randy’s Last lecture was in 2007 and sadly Randy left Carnegie because of Cancer.

So what does Randy talk about? Well, he talks about achieving your dreams he had a set of dreams that he had written out and how he actually made each dream come to fruition.

His dreams were…

  • Being in Zero Gravity
  • Playing in the NFL
  • Authoring an article in the World Book Encyclopedia
  • Being a Captain Kirk
  • Winning a large stuffed animal at a carnival
  • Being a Disney Imagineer

And yes he did achieve each of those dreams and so much more. He talks about some of his big projects that he taught at from his VR Class that the whole school would come and see to his ETC master class.

I realize this is a long video clocking in at and hour and sixteen minutes but there are so many points of interests and learning here I had to share.

Now if you would like to start finding out how you can chase and possibly achieve your childhood dreams I have a men’s group that can hep you do just that. To find out more please to to The Brotherhood of Men page and fill out the form at the bottom
