Ted Lasso is a series about a man who becomes a coach, and his on dying positive outlook on life. There are several lessons you can learn from each episode of Ted Lasso. However, why don’t you look at leader ship, and how Ted displays the best aspects of being a good leader.
Show that others matter
So many times, other people don’t follow leader ship, or new leaders because they don’t believe that they matter. They are either a lowly equipment manager, or a janitor or somebody who isn’t in a leadership position. This it’s simply not true. A leader knows that everybody has something to contribute. And when you show other folks in your organization or family or team that they matter, they are going to use your suggestions and follow your leadership more readily.
Align your goals
Power of a team is that everyone is pulling in the same direction. Able to have everyone move in the same direction. You have to have a vision for everyone to follow. They need to know why they’re doing what they’re doing. And if you can get all the players of your organization together and move instead, you end up growing the organization you have better cohesiveness.
Set up other people to be leaders
People are valued when they are put into leadership positions. You also get new and fresh perspectives and leadership styles. This allows your vision to be expanded and distributed more effectively. All because one person may not react to one leadership style but another person my need to hear it in a new way.
Leader let’s others take the credit
Leaders don’t need the glory. Their reaching the goal is the prime objective. So allowing those around you to get the glory and accolades makes you look even better.
While if you are wanting the glory you wil actually hurt the cohesion of the team because those members will see you only interested in yourself.
Solicits feed back
This can scare many people but how would you take feedback that is completely anonymous? Could be humble enough to take the criticism with grace? A leader can.
Empathy
Can you see the world from other peoples point of view? Effective leaders can. They don’t just jump to conclusions they look and see why something went wrong?
If you can walk a mile in another man’s shoes you see why they are coming to the thoughts that are keeping them from success
Celebrate others wins
When someone wins can you fully embrace their win? A good leader can and will be the first to clap the team member on the back and say good job.
Have a vision and share it
Be the type of person who shares his vision if you don’t then how are your team members suppose to know what to do?
Cover contracts do not help anyone. So share your expectations.
Don’t deny reality
Sometimes things just don’t work out. Are you married to one outcome that you refuse to see what other outcomes are possible?
